I've been a fan of cateye lights for some time, and they just keep getting better. This is very bright, the flashing modes are attention-grabbing, and they get a good chunk of time out of their batteries.
The best thing about them, in my view, is the combination of good, bright, rear-facing light for cars behind, with enough curve to give you some sideways visibility as well.
I've used these (and the older models) commuting all winter, and they last well. They don't leak. It's best not to drop them - I've broken lights like these by dropping them on hard concrete.
Cateye mounts are particularly good. They can come apart - take a look at the little screw on top, and make sure it's tight - but otherwise they are great. They's simple to operate, even with one gloved hand; they are interchangeable across the range; they are quick to fit (and not bad to move). I have two bikes, each with five or so mounts, and can move lights between them or my pockets in seconds.
In all, these are great lights - and they fall in that happy medium between cheap rubbish that breaks or doesn't shine or leaks or whatever, and the legions of absurdly pricey lights that have come onto the market in the last couple of years, and which are often unpleasantly bright.

If you want a rear light which takes normal batteries this is a good one. Can be seen from a long way away and has multiple flashing options and can be seen from the side. I don't like the USB rechargeable type lights that have started coming out as I always forget to charge them, so this is ideal for me.

Nice light, good visibility, not as bright at others out there though. My exposure rear flare is much brighter, but smaller. Pair it with the optional under-saddle mount to get it where it needs to be on your bike and a cool buy. Some of the flashing modes are a bit epilepsy inducing so be a conscientious cyclist and stick to the nice gentle pulse mode (o;

Larger than anticipated but a very bright commuting rear light. Not suitable for riding out in a group as you get too many 'too bright' comments but perfect for the daily commute on London's roads.
Plenty of flashing options or just on.
Would recommend but probably too big for any weight weenies.

I like it because it does exactly what I was expecting, it's bright, it's waterproof, easy to install and easy to set one of the 4 settings. It also easy to remove and you have 2 x possible positions to fit it in its holder as well (vertical or horizontal). The 2 x AAA batteries seems to hold the required power so far after 20 to 30 hours of usage (I use the flashing setting only).
