I didn't like hearing about Mike in Breaking Kate and what he was like as a person no matter what happened to his life that made him like that, there are two or maybe more ways to treat people after what had happened and by the way he treated people after his tragic event says a lot about him
But in this book you get to know Michael the boy and when he meets Kate and Jessica and how they became best friends I understand but I love Daniel and his character and personality is amazing
But you get a good look at Mike hear and I like him a bit more
Can't wait to read the rest of this series
Catching Kate is told from Michaels point of view. Its his story of him and Katherine. It doesn't cross over with Breaking Kate until the end and then its only fleeting. Some things may seem the same but they are completely different because they ate told from Michaels point of view. It explains why things happened the way it did between him and Katherine and what he did in the years following their break up.
When I first read Breaking Kate. It was an amazing books I couldn't wait to read the next one. And Dee Kelly didn't disappoint.
It would of been so easy for Dee to continually overlap the story of Catching Kate with Breaking Kate. But she doesn't do that, this is a completely different story. I loved it.
I love the characters in this story. After reading Breaking Kate I was definitely on team Daniel and thought Michael had a nerve for turning up. BUT after reading Catching Kate, I don't know I feel sorry for Michael. They were victims of circumstance. So I think I'm going with Team Kate. I really don't know which way this will go.
Dee has done an absolutely fantastic job with this plot, it flows effortlessly. The character and plot is so real you can imagine this in real life, which way would you choose.
So Team Daniel or Team Michael you decide, but ladies these books contain hot men.
Dee, This is amazing, fantastic and beautifully written.
I give this 5/5 stars.
It takes us right back to the beginning of Micheal and Kathrine's freindship, we see how Micheal helped Kate when she needed it the most with the loss of her mother and how their relationship grow from freindship to love. This book tells us how the heartbreak that Micheal suffered tore them apart and his feelings throughout and how he quickly realised that he had made the biggest mistake of his life in letting her go.
Micheal has made a new life for himself with new friends he sees more as brothers but has now decided the time is right to contact Kate and hopefully win back her heart, but after 4 years it won't be that easy there are surprises in store for everyone involved and not necessarily good ones and secrets that need to be told before he can finally try and get back the one women who has stolen is heart.
A fab 5 Star read that has left me desperate to jump into the next book to see where this story will go. I would definitely recommend that you read Braking Kate before you read this book.
During the first book I felt the young Katherine and Micheal were really in love – that this was either going to be a HEA or there would be a tragic twist, and the Ms. Kelly didn’t disappoint. Ms Kelly had quickly drawn me into her characters and I really felt for Katherine and I wanted to punch Micheal in the head! And after finishing Catching Kate, I STILL DO!!! I'm definitely on #TeamDaniel
Michael was a good friend to the girls in a way, but he was controlling towards Kate and for him to go from being her staunch defender to believing she would betray his dad like that showed him to be immature and selfish. I am still in the belief that Daniel is the better choice for Kate. ( fingers crossed anyway, who knows what Ms Kelly has in store for us in the next book.)
It was good to see how the men got to meet, how they grew to be close and more of how Veronica plays both Mike and Daniel off each other.
So in ending I am giving Ms Kelly 5 stars this time, because even though I knew the storyline from book one, Ms. Kelly has managed to keep the story fresh, giving us insight on how Kate, Jess and Michael developed their friendship and Ms Kelly’s writing style developed, I kept turning the page, never bored, which when telling a story that's already been told by another POV is a difficult task.
I look forward to seeing what develops in the next book... Who's the baby daddy, what is Kate going to do???
I hope we don't have to wait long?
