K. Bromberg does a brilliant job keeping you guessing especially the whole Santiago drama, you know something is going on between him Cal that much is obvious... life's full of surprises.
Cal's guilt at not being there for Santiago, although not his fault because he wasn't aware he even existed ended up causing a wedge between his relationship with Easton. Cal basically gave to one son and took from another it was an absolutely awful situation and one that should have been dealt with very differently but it just sort of came from nowhere and escalated very quickly.
Scout's father Doc is still being tough on her and at times I thought incredibly mean, it brings you to tears more than once but he had his reasons... he had a plan and it all made sense in the end.
There are so many parts and situations in this story that are incredibly emotional, with Scout and Doc and Easton and Cal and don't forget Easton's problem he'd been dealing with and hiding for all this time but through it all Scout was there always supporting and reasoning with him, everything was easier to deal with having Scout by his side.
With excellent standout moments that have you gripped Easton coming to realise who Santiago really is and the whole fallout from that is one of them.
As if I hadn't cried enough... the ending did it again but I was crying for all the right reasons this time, every emotion and feeling was put into this last scene... it was superb.!
The Catch is hands down one of K. Bromberg best books! It's emotional, it's tense, and certainly gives you all the feels. Not to mention, it's a great conclusion to The Player Duet.
After the cliffhanger ending from The Player, I was left on the edge of my seat with some important and unanswered questions. I can safely say K. Bromberg didn't let me down; she answered them and then some.
Scout and Easton get a lot thrown at them in this book, which really tests their relationship and their love for one another. But ever present, in the background is this epic love story and the everyday struggle of relationships.
There was a time or two this couple frustrated me, especially Easton. I wanted to slap him more than once but at the same time I really felt for him. No matter what life threw at him though, he picked himself up and proved to people why he was the best.
This is so much more than just a story about baseball. It's a story about second chances and facing your fears head on no matter how scary they are. It's about that all-consuming, tear-your-clothes-off kind of love and passion.
If I could give this story more than 5 stars I definitely would, but alas I will just have to settle. K. Bromberg is hands down one of my favourite authors, she never fails to disappoint!
Will life for them both ever be the same again? Did she do the right thing?
Brilliant story with a few twists, turns and surprises that you don't expect. Strong emotional moments between both main characters and their respective families that show the softer side of both of them. Lovely.
I was so excited to jump into this and see where Kristy took us with this storyline and the reasons behind all the decisions that led up to the ending in The Player.
It didn't disappoint. It is a real page turner and my emotions surprised me, tears falling many times throughout the book. I really fell in love with Easton & Scout.
Baseball cap off to Kristy, she hit this one right out of the ballpark! The perfect ending.
