About the Author

As a child, Natalie used to hide in her room or behind the couch, curled up with a good book. She dreamed of being a writer, but her mother told she needed to be practical and get "a real job with benefits". So like a good little nerd, she earned a degree in engineering. Natalie can't sing. Or dance. Or play an instrument. She can't ride a bike and doesn't know how to swim or drive. As a result, her husband often asks "Are you sure you're not really from Mars?" (the answer, in case you were wondering, is no. Unless New York counts as another planet). When she's not geeking out at her day job, Natalie can be found attempting to wrangle her overly energetic Westie, baking ridiculously chewy chocolate chip cookies, and watching so-bad-it's-good reality television shows.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Firstly, this is the Debut Novel for this Author, so don’t let this put you off. It’s delightfully good !! When i started this book with the “woke up in Vegas Married” i thought i knew what was going to come! I was wrong.

Anthony Carter has really had one hell of a crappy time. Losing his scholarship, caring for his dying mother and shouldering all the debt that comes with the medical bills and her funeral. He really isn’t looking for a relationship, and definitely not a marriage!

Elizabeth Wheaton(Rockwell) is an heiress, and a cut throat divorce lawyer. She most definitely doesn’t want a relationship, nor a marriage. Especially experiencing the results of her father’s numerous failures. She’s in control of her life, trusts in no one and has just come out of a ten year relationship, finding out he had been cheating.

So when Anthony and Elizabeth wake up in Vegas married they both agree to go their separate ways and Elizabeth will take care of a quickie divorce. That all changes when Anthony returns home and discovers that “his wife” is worth billions and his friend convinces him to visit Elizabeth and convince her to pay his debts for him so he can move forward in life. After all he’s giving her the quickie divorce, so its the least she could do Right??

NO NOT RIGHT !!

I found it really easy to like both these characters, even though Elizabeth was very guarded and suspicious, it was easy to understand this part of her character. She also has a loving heart that was neatly sealed and not easily opened. Anthony was also a bit closed because of his past and they both had secrets. This story takes you on a fun journey, from beginning to end.

This is Natalie Rios debut novel, for which I think she did a real good job. Saying that I found the story a little hard to get into at first, but that's probably just me, I like something a little darker, this is a lighthearted book, but I'm glad I persisted and read it as it turned out to be quite good.

It started with the whole 'get roaring drunk and married in Vegas' start. Quicky divorce now on the cards. Anthony has different ideas. He's broke with debts and after a bit of 'googling' finds his wife has money. Light bulb moment. But Liz turns out to be a kick ass divorce lawyer and is on to his game. If they can only get to know one another properly they can work it out right??

Anthony is a nerdy geeky good guy at heart, but has his share of problems and debt. If he can get to know Liz, the aim is to get her to pay off his debts, forget the marriage and the sex!!

Liz is a firecracker, she may be an heiress but doesn't like handouts, works hard for her money - she is no pushover trust fund baby!! All she wants in an annulment and to get on with her life, get him to sign the paperwork and job done, not thinking about how hot he is, he cooks like a God or his dimples she wants to lick out!!

Good story with the way the relationship between the characters build. Light hearted romance with a HEA.

This is my first read by Natalie Rios. I loved the writing style, although it did start off a little slow for me; but after the first two chapters it caught my attention and had me hooked until the end. I loved that she had both POV’s, so you can see both sides of the story. Liz and Anthony make the cutest couple. Liz is well set in her ways and Anthony is just as stubborn and wants things his way.

Liz Rockwell is a billionaire that is a successful divorce attorney. She never thought she would have to use her skills for herself, when she wakes up with Anthony Carter and with wedding rings on her finger, while on a trip to Vegas. Liz just wants out of the marriage but Anthony has other plans. Anthony is in debt up to his ears and wants Liz to pay off his debts with her money; however she wants nothing to do with her dysfunctional family’s money.

Will Liz and Anthony be able to move past the money differences and keep their marriage?

How to Catch an Heiress is Natalie Rios’ debut novel and the first book in The Heiress Series. I look forward to reading more of Natalie’s books and definitely of The Heiress Series.

Both Anthony and Liz have gone to Vegas for a dry kern weekend to escape; Anthony to escape the grief he still feels after losing his mother to cancer and his spot on the prestigious doctoral programme and ending up in debt. And Liz to escape the fact that her boyfriend of 10 years dumped her and then married someone else within 3 months and she now no longer really believes in happily ever after or love full stop. Both never would have guessed they would have met at a bar, both looking miserable to then wake up married. But although Liz is desperate to finish and forget this drunken mistake, Anthony isn't so keen- at first for his own gain but as time goes on he starts to think, maybe this marriage wasn't a drunken mistake after all?

"I didn’t lose my virginity until I was twenty-one. By then, I was so worked up from waiting so long, I practically shot off like a rocket the second I got it in. My nickname was Two Pump Tony until I got to grad school.”

This was a really fun, entertaining, easy, enjoyable read from a promising new author! Anthony and Liz were such likeable and relatable characters that you couldn't help but root for and an interesting take on the, "drunk fling in Vegas" story.

“You’re the beautiful one. Seriously beautiful, with the fullest lips I’ve ever seen. I can’t look at your face for too long because my eyes immediately zero in on them and then I’m wondering what they feel like."

From the start both characters were easily likeable. Anthony has had a really rubbish time of it and my heart went out to him and the issues he was dealing with. Through it all he was still able to laugh and make others smile and be someone you would want around you!
