Product Description

Product Description

This is the new style bottle with a filler neck extension tube included. Helps reduce exhaust emissions and fuel consumption Ideal if your car has failed its MOT test due to high emissions A great remedy if you have poor engine performance. or have a clogged catalytic converter or clogged oxygen sensors Can be used in both petrol and diesel engines and even hybrid engines. CATACLEAN is NOT a fuel additive, and it is not added to fuel as a petrol or diesel "enhancement." CATACLEAN is only required every 3 months...not every time you fill your tank. CATACLEAN is an engine and fuel system detoxification technology, developed to exceed the most recent environmental standards. CATACLEAN rapidly and thoroughly dissolves resin, gum, carbon and similar deposits in the fuel system, oxygen sensor/lambda probe and catalytic converter. CATACLEAN not only prevents fouling of your catalytic converter, it removes existing deposits and increases fuel efficiency. CATACLEAN only uses third party, independent laboratory testing to substantiate product claims. Over time, problems can occur in the engine and catalytic converter, causing an increase in fuel consumption, a drop in performance and an increase in harmful exhaust emissions such as carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons which, in turn, damage the environment. These problems tend to occur in older vehicles, in vehicles that are used for short journeys, in vehicles that are continually stopping and starting and where fuel quality is poor. I am 64, been in the motor industry since 1965, and recently since 1979 an engine restoration expert. All types. My co-directors BMW failed on dreaded emissions. CO too high, a clear sign of a bad performance from the Catalytic Converter. The catalyst inside the casing gets coated with clag from oil being burnt along with the fuel. I sent for a can of Catalclean. Drove it once around the M60, around Manchester. Re tested the emissions. The Co had dropped to as low as it would be possible for it to drop to, and still start and run! Flew through the Emissions test. Engine ran better, never checked for any difference to MPG...not fussed. This gear works and does exactly what it says. BUT....if you have complete CAT failure, and it's too far gone, then Cataclean WILL NOT RAISE THE DEAD. So if it does NOT work for you, you used it too LATE! My advice is to use it several weeks BEFORE the MOT test, and give the vehicle a fast run to get the converter up to temperature, and that will scald off the Cat Core and leave it clean enough to work again.

Like many people I had read reviews on this before purchasing.
So after reading mainly good reviews and a few negative I decided to delve in an buy the cataclean. My engine management light had came on which after checking on my reader gave me a p0420 code (basically catalytic converter issue)
I follower the instructions for use, letting my tank go down to quarter full and putting the cataclean in. Drive it until the light comes on and the fill back up.
I took the car on the motorway for about a 40miles for constant driving to help the cleaning process.
I would say after about 80-100 miles my engine management has now turned off and stayed off since.

Having failed an MOT on emmissions Lambda figure with my beloved old Mazda MX5 I tried the product and a quick thrash down the Motorway.
It worked! Saved myself a furtune on garage bills and new cat or oxygen sensor (as suggested by garage).
    Fast Idle
CO down from 0.23 to 0.16%
HC down from 49 to 39ppm
Lambda down from 1.175 to 1.021.

    Natural Idle
CO down from 0.14 to 0.02%

    Hippeee!

Delighted with Cataclean - has revived my spluttering Focus 1.6 after a coil failure dumped fuel into the cat and choked it.
Been running rough for 6 months now, hoping to 'burn it off' on some longer motorway trips but to no avail. One slug of this has transformed the engine back to how it used to be; smooth running from cold, instant start, like it never happened.
Great product - thoroughly recommend it.
Will save you a fortune on a cat change and well worth a try.

I took my car to the garage and was told I needed a new catalytic converter - which was probably due to my running the car on very old petrol. The car was running really rough so there was definitely a problem with it, and the lambda sensors were illuminated (these are the ones which tell you the fuel/oxygen mixture settings are wrong, or more likely, you get that reading if the sensor itself is duff). I was a bit dubious at first because some experts doubted whether such a product could clean as far as the cat - but I thought at that price, I may as well give it a try. Basically, the car is now running smoothly again - I put 2 bottles through at a stronger concentration than recommended (about 1 1/2 times the strength) just to be sure - not sure if that was necessary, but my overall saving was about £1200. So it did work, at least for me, and it would also seem to be able to get as far as the catalytic converter.

I was very skeptical about using this. I've never been a believer in "Snake Oils for cars", I even think Redex is a bit of a scam wrapped in some clever marketing.

That said my 2000 1.7 Ford Puma on 55k miles just wasn't going right and felt sluggish and more like the 1.4 model. I'd changed the air filter, cleaned the MAF sensor with electrical contact cleaner, changed the sparks, oil, filters and coil pack and yet it was still kangarooing a little after a gear change and there was around a 3 second flat spot before it picked up power.

The only things I could think of that might need attention were the lamda sensor, CAT and TPS sensor. So, I took a gamble on Cataclean.

I followed the instructions to the letter, adding a whole bottle to around a quarter of a tank of fuel and drove normally for about 12-15 miles.

After about 8 miles I started to panic as all of a sudden the car lurched into safety mode right in the middle of traffic and wouldn't rev past 2k nor go faster than 20mph. This is usually a symptom of a complete lamda/cat failure. I couldn't really pull over so I continued on and then all of a sudden got one hell of a misfire...then...amazingly the car was back to normal again, actually, better than normal!

My throttle response has improved, the ever so slight idle chase that I had going on has gone and it now goes like a rocket. I've never had so much fun with my car before. I also think my fuel consumption has improved a little too, but with no MPG computer I'll have to wait until it's empty and do some calculator work to find out.

I'm still not really sure what it's done.
