Got this to convert a standard ethernet cable for computer to modem to a crossover cable for connecting two computers together. Did the the job.

What i didn't like was the bulkiness of it meant i couldn't 'click' the device home into a LAN socket as the computer chasis was coming in the way, but it was still tight enough to not move out of place.

Great product, difficult using it

The product is fantastic. but you only need one of these and not two on both ends of the standard cable. secondly it can be difficult setting up a pc-to-pc connection. the ip address needs to the same and so does the gateway. i'm saying this because you shouldnt jump to the conclusion that the adapter doesnt work.

Very handy adapter to save buying a crossover cable.
I got this one to connect pc to dreambox and to avoid connection via lan. So far it does not work , but this is probaly because i expected it to connect just like with the lan connection.

A little large for some kit

I only needed this to test cables but it was far too big to plug into either of my two routers.
As it's use was temporary I unclipped the adapter, exposing the internal wires, which then enabled it to fit.
