CAT LADY [n.]
Single, independent, crazy, aloof, on-the-shelf, lives alone . . .
It’s safer for Mia to play the part that people expect. She’s a good wife to her husband Tristan, a doting stepmother, she slips on her suit for work each morning like a new skin.
But beneath the surface, there’s another woman just clawing to get out . . .
When a shocking event shatters the conventional life she’s been so careful to build, Mia is faced with a choice. Does she live for a society that’s all too quick to judge, or does she live for herself?
And if that’s as an independent woman with a cat, then the world better get ready . . .
Fresh, funny and for anyone who’s ever felt astray, CAT LADY will help you belong – because a woman always lands on her feet.

The characters were loveable, the writing was warm. Although I don’t really blame it for this, I found the book predictable and although it’s comforting when all things work out in the end, in terms of what happen in the book, it is a bit surprising.
There are some rather graphic scenes, so just be prepared that if you’re looking for a heart warmer (which it is) there are moments of surprise in there.
A great book for comfort and if you want to believe it can all work out in the end, which In essence I think we all do.
Normally rave over Dawn O’Porters books , but!
Didn’t enjoy Cat lady as much as others.
However it’s a cracking read, with relatable characters, plus Dawn always manages to bring the story alive and covers many deep subjects that can often help many people. So you must give her credit for that.
Personal opinion is wasn’t up to scratch (See what I did there🐱)
Truly good read but not page turny as previous books had me.
Never in my life has a book touched me and made me cry like this one has. Not just from the loss of dear Pigeon but from the amazing friendships made and especially when she meets a familiar face. Absolutely sobbed - like seriously ugly cried. Highly recommend the audio book too as Daisy is just the perfect Mia & it’s easier to listen to than read if your eyes are full of tears like mine were ! Another brilliant book from Dawn ❤️
