Product Description

From the Back Cover

Unlike other casino books, this book examines the casino industry using a business paradigm. It emphasizes both external environmental influences and internal points of control, leaving readers with a more strategic look at how casinos operate and factors that influence their success. The book starts with a discussion of the microenvironment of casinos and ends with marketing topics such as product, price, place and promotions. Nine vignettes appear throughout and capture current issues such as crisis planning and security. Throughout the book, special emphasis is placed on strategic market planning and the connection between entertainment and industry.

HASH(0x99c9b320) out of 5 stars Manditory Read for Anyone Interested in Casino Management 14 Nov. 2009
By G. Hammond - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is a book that is best appreciated by someone really interested in casino management. The author and the contributors did a very good job describing how today's casinos are operated and why. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to learn about the casino industry. I also found that my non-casino business background very helpful in identifying all the common factors between the gaming industry and other industries. They are not that far apart.

It's a OK book. Very dated though. A little dry, but it's a text book.
