Doesn't protect the sides very well, but does a great job overall!
I tried a hard case (too tight and I was scared for the screen), I tried a sleeve (no constant protection when one needs it most), so this is by far the best type of case for me. It fits perfectly (no, it doesn't fit a older non-Retina Macbook Pro, thats why it says its for a Retina Macbook!) and looks very professional. The magnetic clasp was the the tiniest bit tight to begin with but this became spot on after just a few days, this shows the R&D that's gone into this case.
Thanks to this case and a keyboard and trackpad protector, my Retina Macbook is as good looking as the day I bought it.
I've had a lot of comments on how nice the case is and several of my friends have bought one as a result.
It also has a little hinged flap on the bottom to angle the keyboard up slightly, this helps on desktops. None of the ports are covered, none of the vents are covered and I can honestly say that counter to the other review on here, the laptop does not get too hot with the case fitted. It gets not hotter with it than without it.
All in all, a great case. If you want a folio type case, this is the one to try.

lovely soft faux leather which feels like real leather rather than plastic. Fits well and has a quality feel. Read morePublished 15 months ago by Elmecom Ltd
Great build and sturdy, Macbook moves around slightly inside and around the trackpad the trim gets ever so slightly dinted so for that reason I'm not giving it 4-5Published 20 months ago by jack
Love it, got it as a warehouse deal for a fraction of the actual cost.Published 20 months ago by Bargain hunter
Ergonomically and presentationally speaking, this case is very well thought out. The cover around the mousepad is soft to the palms when both typing or using the trackpad. Read morePublished on 12 May 2014 by MR JONATHAN J RUDKIN

The case looks great, the leather good quality, but it puts up a fight when you try to fit it on at first. On top of this, the stud does not clip because it is too short. Read morePublished on 4 Feb. 2014 by Blair Gibson
