The Case of the Missing Cutlery is a leadership book written to develop the most powerful skill that one can have as a leader; that of empowering others. Allen’s writing is witty, compelling and engaging and asks you to reflect and evolve your leadership style. His practical and insightful strategies and models are easy to follow and provide bite-sized gems of advice that any leader in business needs to read. Allen’s insight into emotional intelligence builds on his previous work and can be paralled to the work of Goleman. Having read many leadership books and used numerous models to train others to develop their own leadership styles this is a definite read for any aspiring business leader or coach to tomorrow’s visionaries.

I don’t read business books generally, I find them a bit of a bore. However, Kevin Allen’s “Case of the Missing Cutlery” surprised me. I was ‘delighted’ by the engaging short story – the mystery, if you will – of the missing cutlery, and found the protagonist’s role highly relatable. The book mixed practical advice with real-life examples and engaged me throughout, kudos!

I highly recommend Kevin Allen’s “Case”. Mr. Allen introduced me to the concept of 'buoyancy’; a leadership concept that sticks and is very emotionally connected. The real-world mystery followed by applicable lessons were interesting and definitely illustrated his philosophy in a truly ‘delightful’ format.
