All the holes and grooves are in the right place, and it's hard to believe that something so light can be so strong, but it is. In fact, you would hardly know it's there, and it adds a very slight increase in thickness, but for an already sleek phone, you hardly notice this.
I haven't dropped it yet, but just from reviews, videos and simply holding it, I can be safe in the knowledge that my phone would be fully protected if I did.
I give this product a solid 5/5.
UPDATE: I HAVE REVISED MY ORIGINAL 5-STAR REVIEW AFTER DISCOVERING THE CHINK IN THIS CASE'S ARMOUR... IT'S UNFORTUNATE, AND EASILY RECTIFIED BY REMOVING THE CASE WHEN YOU NEED A SAT NAV, BUT MY PHONE COULD NOT ESTABLISH A LINK WITH THE GPS SATELLITE WITH THIS CASE ON. DEALBREAKER? NO, BUT IRRITATING, ESPECIALLY IF YOU USE YOUR PHONE AS A SAT NAV AS FREQUENTLY AS I DO.
I put this case on my Samsung Galaxy S2 when I received it, and it looks great, really shiny, but slightly rubberised so not slippy in your hand.
I was working from home, and my Vodafone reception is never good, but I noted that calls were not coming through, and I couldn't send texts.
Later on I realised the network bars were at zero, when I'd normally get a 2 or 3, and called Voda - they couldn't find an issue, so my option was to send the phone for repair.
Today, I've travelled to work, and in my office (which is a Vodafone site) I would normally get a 100% 3G service, but was on about a quarter of what I should expect.
On the off chance, I've taken this case off, and the signal resumed almost immediately! I tried it a few times, and it's pretty shocking.
I don't know why this would happen, maybe something to do with the shinyness of the casing? I've never had a case have this kind of affect before...I would warn you from buying this.
Cons....within a day or two of carrying this case in my bag, it suffered two small dents (possibly from my keys or coins). Also, the black brushed aluminium picks up small but very visible scratches quite easily. This case does not protect screen or corners well.
Overall, this case does a reasonable job of protecting rear of phone. Ideal of you're someone that stores phone carefully without any other metallic objects in vicinity (unlike myself). Casemate Tough is perhaps bulkier but more suitable for my type of use
Out of the box; looked great, very close fit so secure and reassuringly firmly built (but deceptively so). Although it does feel like it will scratch the phone as you fit it.
Two days later... sitting at the kitchen table, a room which has oak flooring (not concrete), the phone fell from my hand because the case is extremely difficult to hold still because it is slippery - presumably because of a coating on the resin put on the phone in the factory.
On hitting the floor, the case instantly cracked from the top corner to about 5 mm down the left side. The phone fell approximately 18 inches.
Next, about a week later, a near identical thing happened at work as I took the phone out of my pocket. The - admittedly quite short pile - carpet that the phone fell on to - this time from perhaps a foot, was no help. The crack extended and the back section of the cover began to come away.
My previous phone cover was an Otterbox - for God's sale, pay the extra £5.00 and get one of those instead.
These are terrible.
I bought a couple of ebay specials for £2 and they were naff, The silicone one was ugly and bulky and the armour case was thin and tacky.
This case is tough, very nicely chromed and doesn't scratch easily. The shiny chrome kind of turns a slightly darker chrome and looks really nice after a couple of weeks or so.

Looks superb (got the Brushed Aluminium Silver version), feels nice to hold, seems like it'll take shock well. Glad it has a hole for my lanyard, too. A lovely case.Published 12 months ago by Solomon T.
