Excellent photographies, of whom you recognize many, but that doesn't matter!
It's a fairy tale of a man that virtually came from nowhere, of course he came from England, where else, but in his career!
A man with taste in his genes, taste for clothes and the way to use and wear them. A model of behaviour.
Still even though I'm 60 years old (!), he really should belong to my parents period of life, but he will be eternal.
The only film I saw on a cinema, was 'Charade', with Audrey Hepburn and I guess I was about 16 years old than. I still remeber how impressed I was by his dressing and style. Now we just have a little collection of DVD's.
Anyhow the book is just as you suppose, clean, elegant and decorative. But it's really interesting to read(!), which I really hadn't expected. I bought it just for an owerviev of his chlotes, but it's much, much more!
My only advice is, if not especially interested in Cary Grant, buy it!
If intersted in Cary Grant, hurry up and buy one, especially to the price that's now !
The book is littered with many illustrations of Grant and his co-stars, which documents the changing of his personal style including his mistakes namely hats and bow ties (fashion, not for DJs), it also discusses how a director parted Grants hair on the other side which made is head look square.
Overall the book is an excellent read discussing his friendships, influences and his personal style.
great person's life .Cary Grant was a one off ,there is nobody comparable to himfor talent, with an extremely good sense of which clothes to wear & how to wear them
