I remember as a kid growing up in the 60's/70's, this book being on my parent's bookshelf. I was told, "you can read that when you are older". Going on 40 years later, I have done so. I knew the name Violette Szabo, but had no idea about her heroic deeds in WWII. Courageous and determined, and also a warm and friendly person. A gripping read, but I suspect the book only touches on her accomplishments and the tragedy. And I now want to know more....

I read this book many years ago at school and it still has the power to move me. The courage of Violette Szabo was incredible. This lady deserved the VC and I trust that one day her daughter receives it on her behalf.

I read this wonderful book as a child, and it has taken pride of place on my bookshelf since. Violette was a truly courageous woman, and has been one of my heroine's since. We should never forget the sacrifices these brave men and women made for our freedom.
I would add this book to any young woman's reading list!

This is the astounding story of a true heroine, a young woman who exceeded all expectations and held her own against diabolical odds. Violette Szabo's story should be read, and her memory honoured by everyone. Here is a real role-model. If you think that someone who kicks a football around a playing field and advertises in magazines should be held up as a hero, reading this should put your head straight. Violette Szabo was the tough and dynamic Real Deal.

I,ve almost finished this book. It,s okay, although i found some parts, as in other books, totally irrellevant. Descriptions of her walking down the street and what she was thinking etc, just seem so fabricated. How could anyone know what was going through her head at certain times ? Leave that stuff out and stick to known facts.
