The first of Caron's diary-based, hitchcockesque Friendship can be Murder trilogy, Criss Cross was published in 2013, with the second, Cross Check, appearing in 2014. The third book Check Mate came out in February 2016. These are murders 'not so mysterious' as, rather like Columbo, you see who did it and wonder how they will get away with it. The main character, anti-heroine Cressida, confides all the details of her plans to her journal. She has been described in a five-star review as 'completely without morals...but you find yourself wishing her every success'.
Night and Day: a Dottie Manderson mystery, is book 1 of a new cozy mystery series set in 1930s London, and was published in November 2016, and features amateur detective Dottie Manderson, a young woman with a habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, much to the annoyance of her mother and the delight of her sister. Book 2 is called The Mantle of God: a Dottie Manderson mystery and was published in December 2017. Book 3 is a novella entitles Scotch Mist: a Dottie Manderson mystery novella, and will be available in Spring 2018, follwoed by the next full-length novel in the series, The Last Perfect Summer of Richard Dawlish, planned for autumn 2018.
