Carina Axelsson is half Swedish and half Mexican, and was born and raised in Northern California. After working as a fashion model in New York City, she moved to Paris, France, and continued to model before writing and illustrating the picture book, Nigel of Hyde Park.
After modelling Carina worked as personal assistant to British fashion designer John Galliano, (who was then fashion designer at Christian Dior in Paris), and it was during this time that Carina wrote her first notes about a sixteen-year-old fashion detective. Her many years of experience in the fashion world are now inspiring many of the scenes in her teen fashion detective series, Model Under Cover.
Carina lives in Germany with four dogs and a boyfriend. When she's not writing you can find her in the forest walking with her dogs, in London having tea or visiting museums, or flitting around Europe's fashion capitals, doing research for Model Under Cover. You can also find her pretty much anywhere eating cupcakes. But that's another story.
