Top Customer Reviews

Format: Kindle Edition
This, the first in a trilogy, is a well written and well researched novella. It presents the science behind the Carbon Brief clearly and suggests some imaginative solutions. The story is related through the eyes of a range of individuals who are well observed and very believable.
Dick tackles a wide range of issues, from transport and food production to next-day deliveries; his solutions are generally well thought out and more science-fact than science-fiction. By choosing very real and current problems, i.e. climate change and carbon footprints, and proposing dramatic and traumatic alternatives he has produced a relevant and thought provoking book.
This volume covers the period between 2020 and 2044 and takes us from our current complacency to the brink of environmental disaster; the drama continues in the next two volumes.

I'm just about to buy the second in this trilogy as I'm totally hooked! What I have enjoyed most so far is the futuristic NRG and the way the author has created the hitec way of life we might one day be part of in the not so distant future. Y
