School Library Journal
(February 1, 2004; 0-439-37612-2)
Gr 3-6-This seventh title in the series is witty, fun, and full of adventure. George and Harold think everything is fine as the Robo-Boogers are jettisoned into space, but alas, a complication has occurred. Mr. Krupp, the principal, and Melvin have had their brains switched by the Combine-O-Tron, and they become known as Kruppy the Kid and Mr. Melvin. The Robo-Boogers miraculously return on a space shuttle as Miss Singerbrains, the school librarian, gets into the action by taking the Purple Potty from the basement of the library and Mr. Melvin turns it into a magical time machine (a whole other story). As Miss Singerbrains and the boys fly with their pet pterosaurs, the youngsters regain control of the Combine-O-Tron and the Forgetchamacallit 2000 and they ultimately restore Mr. Krupp and Melvin to their rightful selves. However, the switch does not restore Captain Underpants's powers. Then, just in the nick of time, George and Harold come through. The Purple Potty time machine, which is not supposed to be used two days in a row, awaits the boys, but they, of course, use it again, so the end of this story is just the beginning of the next adventure of Captain Underpants. With fast-paced action and humorous, kid-friendly artwork, this story is creative, imaginative, and truly boisterous.-JoAnn Jonas, Chula Vista Public Library, San Diego, CA Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.

Another fab story from the Capatin Underpants riotous series. This book is witty, amusing and so much fun, ideal for young readers to read alone..you'll hear them laughing out loud and know they're having a great read..and not a games console in sight! Just right to read aloud to even younger readers at bedtime and a perfect introduction to literature especially for reluctant readers as they won't be able to refrain from turning over the page to see what's coming next!

This is an action packed story full of laughs. Captain underpants getsupto some whacky antics whilst fighting bad guys such as Bionic Booger Boyand Robo-Boogers!!! The Captain is accompanied by his trusty friendsthroughout this deep space adventure...all that and time travel too. Ihave written this review for my 7 year old son who cannot get enough ofDav pilkey's books. i was a bit worried that this wouldnt be the rightsort of reading material for him but he thrives on it so i would recommendthis to any parent for their little bookworms!

I ordered this book for my son who is 5 and in-between picture books and older books that have 'no colour on them so they must be boring' books.
They really appealed to his sense of humour and had us roaring with laughter. Now he likes to read during the day as well as at bedtime and my husband and i fight over who is going to read to him. Hilarously funny and i reccommend them to any adult or child who enjoys a really good laugh.

I bought this for my son, who was 5 at the time. It is a little too advanced for him in some places but he loves it when I or his sister read it to him. I think he will love reading it for himself as he gets older.

Continuing on from Part 1 this book brought the funny back for me. All the usual devices, which were getting just a tad repetitive, are here but with a funny little spin on them. There are several 'bad guys' this time around, though I'm still not crazy about the fellow student going maniacal but of course everything is sorted out in the end. Pilkey reaches out to the adults, who by this time are being forced (heehee) to read these books aloud, with some sideways jokes that adults will get on another level. I enjoyed "Commander Tomski"! Good fun all around and Pilkey seems to have started a trend now as this book ends with the set up for the next book. Not exactly a continuation like this two-parter, but we now know the doom the next book will begin with. Get ready for Pterodactyls and Purple Potty People!

very well received by my 7year old friend for his Christmas Stocking. He had great giggles reading it....it was a great price and while the cover of the book is colorful and bright, the inside is just black and white print and picture.
