The 1960s animated series isn't really animated at all; it is more like a comic book with moving mouths. The animation is pretty limited and when the characters do move, it looks pretty weak compared to animation of today. This never actually was a series on its own, but was part of "The Marvel Super Heroes" show, which also featured Hulk, Iron Man and Thor.

The episodes themselves are actually quite interesting, with an authentic capture of the Captain America mythos.

For it's time, the cheesy animation was "normal" so should not be compared to modern animation. Most of it was done on a limited budget, yet still is able be entertaining..
It is quite odd that this classic Captain AMERICA collection is not made for AMERICAN regions. You can buy a multi-region DVD player which is a good idea if you are planning to watch many Region 2/PAL DVDs, but for those in North America who think they cannot watch this Region 2/PAL disc set, because you don't have a Multi-region or PAL player or don't want to buy one, if your PC has a DVD drive, simply download the free VLC Player or 5K Player which plays all regions. Whether you are a Captain America fan or want to relive the TV series you watched as a kid, this set is nice to have.
