New advanced features include:
Automatic Suggestion, which searches your PC for stored images and displays forgotten photos on the desktop via a slideshow. The images can then be edited and printed through My Image Garden.

Print Your Days App
Canon has created a new Facebook application, Print Your Days3, which makes it easier to enhance and print photos directly from the site without the need for any additional software. The app, which is available online via Facebook, includes tools to allow you to automatically adjust photo layouts and create unique collage prints with up to five photos printed on a page. It also provides a range of style and editing options, including borders, cropping and the ability to add captions as well as colourful photo effects, such as sepia tone for a popular vintage look. A selection of 24 colourful backdrops can be chosen to decorate the background of a collage, ranging from fun spots or stripes to more natural effects such as grass or cork, adding a further creative twist to printing photos.
Print Your Days also makes it possible to print photos uploaded to Facebook by friends4 so photos of holidays, birthdays and other special occasions can be easily enjoyed and shared in print as well as online.

That aside it performs really well although a little noisily at times. The benefit for me is the wi-fi facility as I wanted to position it well away from my PC.
Just hope my kids don't use too much ink before more reasonably priced inks appear on the market.
I thought the MG5450 would be a more modern version, How wrong can one be. I am convinced this machine has been built solely as a means of selling ink. It is heart attack fodder. It takes minutes to start, churning away very noisily and I am convinced it is using ink all the time also when shutting down.
The ink cartridges last no time at all, perhaps due to the above.
It is as big as a house and so annoying and expensive to use that I no longer print for fun, only when I really need to.
I am writing this review in the heat of the moment after spending a good half an hour trying to print two photographs. First as the power had been cut in our house,(I normally leave the printer on as it is a WiFi printer), I had to wait for it to start and complain it had not been shut down properly, perhaps I should book our power cuts in advance to suit the printer.
I print the first picture and it tells me one ink has run out so I go through the process of changing it, wait for minutes for it to go through the grinding routine which must use ink because when it eventually starts again it tells me another ink has run out. We repeat the whole routine and, wait for it, the third colour now has a red cross by it. You can't make it up.
I'm not that rich I can afford to change ink before they run out so it all may happen again, unless the printer goes out of the window first.
I'm not saying I will never buy another Canon printer as the ip4000 was so good but I will try to get a new print head for it and consign this thing to the attic where it belongs.
Oh, and one last thing it takes up as much room as my old printer and the Epson scanner I had before. so I.ve not gained there.
Only print a couple of sheets most days, black and white, with occasional days of a dozen or so and didn't want to spend a lot, and this printer was a PC Pro magazine best buy so got one.
Print quality is fine, scanner on top has been useful for copying documents, and uses a set of inks probably every 9 months or so.
Not had a problem with print heads clogging, even though not used all that much, which is good.
But the printer is SO NOISY.
I keep it turned off most of the time and only turn it on to print, then off again. And when I turn it on, every time, there's a whirring and clanking fit to wake the dead for a minute or two while it sorts itself out. Printing itself is fairly quiet, it's just all this mechanical noise before or after you print, or after you turn it on or off. Gets on my nerves so much I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known, which is a pity cos it's a nice printer otherwise.
It did say on the narative that it required Windows 8 we have Windows 7. The BT guy managed to get round this and was surprised that it specified Windows 8???
The other stumbling block for us was that it specified that the router had to have a WPS button to press which our BT 2.0 hub didn't have and reading the book on our BT hub it didn't mention WPS only WPA. Again the BT tecnician managed to solve the issue for us although this help has cost us an extra £15 on our BT bill.
Sorry to ramble on but I'm not quite over the time wasted on the set up.
