From the Back Cover
This book has one goal: to teach Canon 7D owners how to make great shots using your camera. Starting with the top ten things you need to know about the camera―charging your battery, setting your ISO, reviewing your photos, and more―photography pro Nicole Young then carefully guides you through the modes of the camera, offering practical advice on choosing your settings, expert shooting tips, and end-of-chapter “challenges” to get you up-and-running with your 7D. This book is for anyone who wants to upgrade from a point-and-shoot, or who wants to jump right into photography with the control and capabilities of a powerful DSLR. Of course, the camera’s manual might explain the basics of what your camera can do, but From Snapshots to Great Shots shows not only what makes a great shot work―but also how to get that shot using your 7D.

This is a great book if the 7D is your first SLR or first camera that allows manual settings
If you have worked your way up to a 7D from 450D etc then this is too basic and you will be wasting your money
There are a lot better books than this for the basics of exposure, apertures and shutter speed and it isn't as detailed
as others on the 7D itself so it falls between two stools
If you read a Cooking Recipe Book and put it down because there aren't any photos, then you are like me. I want to be shown. I don't want to imagine what a well made dish should look like. And so it is with photographs. This Canon 7D book succeeds by showing in photos what has been described by the author. Obvious? Yes, but many books fail to do this.
I wanted to know how to use the menus, the impact of aperture and shutter speed on pictures, the point of buying one lens over another, and so on. It answered all my questions. I presume that the author did some good research before writing this book. Then she put it in a superbly structured, well designed, and informative teaching aid. Recommended.
