"Music is a bit like a card trick," explains Darlia frontman Nathan Day, and the British three-piece sure know how to play a winning suit. Bursting forth with debut single 'Queen Of Hearts' late last year, Darlia lured fans and industry alike; landing Zane Lowe's Next Hype Record on BBC Radio 1, full rotation on triple j and catching the keen eye of Dew Process, who today welcome the band to their esteemed roster. Despite the band having formed less than a year ago, Day - still fresh from his teens - has been plotting, planning and scheming this moment since before he can remember. A combination of isolation at school, shyness and anxiety meant he wasn't big on communication until music came into his life. Joined by drummer Jack Bentham - the only other musician Day knew upon leaving school - and bassist Dave Williams, the Blackpool trio evoke early '90s grunge, albeit a particularly British take on that most American of genres. It's all underpinned by a heady dose of melody, though not at the expense of the undeniable and infectious drive that has seem them this far.
