An intriguing mystery set at an inn. The two main characters are helping out for a couple of weeks during their summer break. They discover clues indicating there is something valuable hidden at the inn. Along with a friend, they end up discovering something pretty incredible (eight somethings, actually). This is the second mystery in this series. In the first, the characters also discover something valuable, but a much different sort of thing. Cousin Bea and Mr. Hammon are terrific personalities in this book. I can't wait for more books in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brought Back Memories 16 Feb. 2012
By CJ Longberg - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This brought back memories, not just of good children's mysteries that I read growing up, but it brought back memories of helping my grandmother make candles in an old farm shed. They don't make any candles in this book but the inn used to be a candle shop. This brought back fond memories too of staying at mom-and-pop inns when traveling as a youth with my parents. I initially bought this for my cousin's daughter. I read it because I thought it looked interesting. It was, and it brought back fond memories.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Candlewick Inn Mystery 12 Jun. 2009
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is Book 2 of the Cassie Kingston Mysteries. Cassie and Enilsa go to the Candlewick Inn to help Cousin Bea run the inn for the summer. Cassie and Enilsa are just becomming detectives. They hear a story about a treasure hidden at the inn. They find a note hidden in a bed post. They find a clue under a tile in the ceiling. They find another clue in a deck of cards and in a photograph of a man who used to live at the inn. He lived there like he would in an apartment. In the end Cassie and Enilsa, and Brian, find out what is hidden at the inn and it is really something neat. They find out why it is hidden there too. Cousin Bea gets to keep the inn in the end even after a forger and another man try to steal it from her. I am going to read the third book in this series next.
