This was free and I really enjoyed it, I just wish that it was longer, I'm now waiting for book 2 to be price dropped as I can only imagine that will be good as well, I just don't want to pay the higher price for less pages. I Know Tanis was good, as that was price dropped and I'd read that

The first in Bambi Lynn's 'Gods of the Highlands' series; a light but entertaining read all set against the beauty and colour of the Scottish Highlands. A good mixture of historical inspiration and supernatural creatures - in this case pagan deities and their descendants - put together with some believable human personalities. There are many worse ways to spend your time than with this book.

HASH(0x9d6df3a8) out of 5 stars Amazing Cover!! Hot fresh twist of Highlands&Gods blend!!! 28 May 2015
By Sue-ellen B. Robertson (GirlyGirlBookReviews) - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the perfect blend of midevil romance and hot passion. You find yourself in a world where there are immortal and mortals who are at war with each other and seek revenge.  The plot is one that kept me turning the pages and wanting to see what would happen next.  I loved the mixture of gods and mortals to add the extra spice.  You have Cam who is clan leader, yet doesn't want it.  He wants the one thing that he can't have a simple life! He's strong and yet feared.  But much like most lairds during that time has a puppet master. Maili, I loved the way she thought.  She is a goddess! She is there for one thing, seek and destroy for revenge! A woman scorned and on a mission is trouble; however,  she does have one downfall.  Will this lead her away from what her first mission was?  The author has a way with her writing that kept me interested with more than just the hot scenes I enjoyed reading the whole storyline and the fact that there was more to it than just another highland romance. This is a highland romance with a twist to it and worth every second you read it. Oh and lets not forget the cover, everyone knows im a cover fanatic and this is definitely eye catching!! Love it!!! Pick up this highland diamond now! Looking forward to book 2 and what is in store for us there???

HASH(0x9d6f0960) out of 5 stars I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn't seem to be able to put it down until I knew the final outcome. 6 Dec. 2015

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. Actually, Camulus is the first book I've read by Bambi Lynn, but it won't be the last. Initially, I was drawn to the book by her excellent choice of cover art. She is a very detailed writer. By that I mean she spends time with the small things in the story that someone else might overlook. I must say, this was a first for me in my paranormal romance stories. Camulus takes place in Scotland at a time when gods and goddesses were thought of as being a part of the "old religion". The characters were well thought out and defined. I just loved the character of Maili, with her descriptions of how she perceived what was going on around her as well as struggling with her own inner thoughts and wishes. Maili anguished over whether or not to keep a bargain she made to get her powers back, or to allow herself to take a chance at falling in love when she thought her own destiny was already set. Can Maili trust her heart, or should she go with what her head is telling her. Being a woman, sometimes logic isn't what she really wants to dwell on and therefore tries to push those thoughts aside. Camulus is a wonderful character as well, surprising Maili with his actions and reactions to their situation. I loved the book and now am looking forward to reading the other characters stories which follow. Nice work and an enticing read.

HASH(0x9d5a4a50) out of 5 stars and she couldn't be off to a better start. Calculus Cass is the laird of the ... 3 Dec. 2015

This is the first book in the Gods of the Highlands by Ms. Lynn, and she couldn't be off to a better start.
Camulus Vass is the laird of the large Munro clan, & craves the simple life.Maili is tasked with getting rid of the offspring of an Ancient God, oh did I mention she's a Goddess, bent on revenge.Throw in Camulus conniving Uncle & you have a wonderful, fun, fast-paced read.Short but highly entertaining, full of romance & passion.
The characters well written & I loved the Mortal/Immortal aspect....Definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
HASH(0x9d6e25b8) out of 5 stars review of camulus 14 Dec. 2015

I usually avoid reading novellas most of the time because sometimes they are too short for me to get involved in the story then when I do the story ends too quickly for my taste leaving me wondering what happened or I get attached to the characters and there is no complete satisfying end to their story. In this story by Ms. Bambi Lynn not only did I like the story but the characters were wonderful as well. Plus since I love to read paranormal romance and highlanders then it can’t be bad at all.
Maili a fallen goddess is a human woman but in order to become a goddess again must enact revenge on the person who took all that away from her but in doing so will threaten the life of the one person that she loves Camulus.
***Minor Spoilers***
I instantly liked Cam or Camulus wow what a hero! Plus what’s not to like first he’s a highlander whom I really liked but then he has a special power about him too. Okay maybe for the fact that he is human speaks against him then but even with his humanity and failings there is that but even with that it made it all the more easy to associate with him. He might have powers but he was someone that made mistakes and seemed totally approachable. Maili on the other hand was hard for me to like. Maybe since she was driven by revenge and had this superiority complex about her that even though she was human most of the story she still bothered me. I didn’t feel any sympathy for her. I hated the fact that she was supposed to use people and exact revenge on the one that hurt her. Maili seemed very childish to me because she spent a lot of her life in a vengeful state. I wanted Maili to grow as a character and forgive Daro finding another way to obtain her goddess status but she keeps going with it anyway. I found it hard to see her be so vengeful and her to be in love both those emotions don’t go well together. I never figured out if Cam and Maili get married I am assuming they did since the ending was a little abrupt. I wanted a little more about both Cam and Maili’s power but maybe that comes with the rest of the series. Maybe I just wasn’t ready for the book to be over. I still enjoyed the story however rated it four stars, can recommend it and will definitely get more books from Ms. Lynn!
