'Stephen has taken the hard work out of locating your own pitch in paradise. And when I say paradise I don't mean just a hop, skip and a jump away - I mean right there. Once the waves or the fish or the rays have been caught, you can pop the kettle on, cook up your catch or just take it easy, right there at the very edge, where the sea meets the land, where it matters. These are the places that make you go 'wow'!' -- Martin Dorey, Presenter Of One Man And His Campervan
'The best campsites are by the water. The best place to find them is in this book. This is an indispensable guide for lovers of camping and watersports.' --John Kelly Song of the Paddle
Camping by the Waterside helps to plan the perfect trip, to locations that tick all the boxes. It's already shown me a few places I'd like to explore.' --Elton Murphy anglersnet.co.uk
'Flick through this book, grab your board and your tent, and go explore our spectacular coastlines.' --Campaigns Director, Surfers Against Sewage Andy Cummins

So, why not have a picture of a capmervan on the front instead of a tent and rename the book "Caravanning by the waterside"?
It combines luxury camping ideas with those who wish to save on cash, but Neale assures us that prices will fluctuate year on year.
Top 10: this little guide is handy for giving you the top ten sites for specific activities, including getting out on the water, or even the best places to fish.
It also divides Britain and Ireland by area and helps you to approach visiting camp sites and caravan parks using this method.
I'd pass it round to family members and friends if I could stop fantasising about my next camping trip...A little winner of a book!
The idea of a book of waterside campsites is a lovely one but I was expecting to find some hidden gems in here, or at least for there to be some honest appraisal of what the sites are like, apart from being by water. As it is I'm afraid I haven't found any sites in here that I don't think I could have easily found via a quick trawl of ukcampsite.com.
Having said that, the book looks lovely and has inspired me to try some wild swimming next time I'm at one of my favourite secluded waterside sites (none of which are mentioned here).
However, several "camp sites" that interested me in this book are actually caravan sites as they do not allow tents. Now, my understanding of "camp sites" is that you camp on them, not put a caravan on them, when they become "caravan sites".
As I don't have room for a caravan in my canoe I found the book to not be as useful as I had first hoped.
However, it is easy to use and does have some "proper" camp sites of interest in it so it's worth three stars.

Good and informative review of waterside sites... May have been better for me in hands on form, as opposed to digital.Published 11 months ago by martyn leaney
A little disappointing as very few campsites in each area- Wales seems best. If I had seen a copy before purchase I wouldn't have bothered.Published 13 months ago by Knitting Nancy
