I returned recently from holidaying and camping at 5 sites in France and used the Michelin Camping France 2010 - the latest on sale at the time I left, and this review applies to the 2010 Edition. Please note the 2011 Edition may be different. I cannot comment on other guides but I certainly recommend this one.
The book divides France into its 22 regions and has a map for each region with all selected sites pinpointed, and sites in neighbouring regions are also included - a good point. For each site, there are details of fees, facilities and period of opening. With this to hand, one can avoid those sites that are closed during early or late seasons, or too dear. I found the information to be quite accurate. The guide paid for itself the first night.
In my opinion, it does not matter that there are further sites not included in the guide. It claims to be a selection and no area is represented too sparsely.
I have given the Michelin Camping guide 4 stars and not 5 because the region maps generally occupy two pages and those site place names right in the fold are a little harder to read - a case for margins?

I bought this guide preparation for a two week camping stint in France this summer. In fact I am writing this review whilst on the ferry home!

We'd sorted the first site via the net so didn't open the guide properly till en vacation.

At first it seems confusing as the actual site descriptions are in French with symbols.

The best way to use the guide is to find the region list in the back and use the matrix to narrow down the type of sites. For instance the logo for 'quiet' sites is a chap in a rocking chair so you can quickly find those in one region and eliminate others.

The guide gives 2010 prices (accurate to within 5 euros) we found, some actually were cheaper than advertised. It has a glossary of french words and the symbols are explained. Broad range of sites listed and info such as onsite shops, bar and wifi availabilty.

All in all a good buy but invest a few mins in reading instructions in front to maximise its usefulness as not the most instinctively intuitive around

This book is in four different languages. The description of individual sites is in French. Once used to it, the book is a useful guide to some excellent sites in France and with clear (GPS friendly)directions to get there.

I found this guide rather complicated to use. Also very heavy when weight is an issue. The information about each campsite is factual - no description of what the place is like or nearby attractions.

The most reliable and effective book of French campsites on the market. Not quite as clear as in previous years but still by far and away the best.

After purchasing 3 different 'campsite' books, this one has been left in the cupboard. Impossible to use, would not recommend.
