Product description

`Roger Simpson started investigating influences on a group of Tennyson's early poems, and found himself rewriting a piece of English literary history. His finds are crisp, detailed, and convincing.' MODERN LANGUAGE REVIEWSucceeds admirably as acomprehensive survey of Arthuriana in the 18th and early 19th centuries. MODERN PHILOLOGY`... a welcome addition to an Arthurian library...especially sugnificant for those who are interested in the continuing tradition of Arthur and his entourage. It is meticulously researched and admirably written, and it does indeed encourage a reassessment of the Arthurian revival of the first half of the nineteenth century.' REBECCA COCHRAN, University of Nebraska at Kearney. `A fascinating act of recovery - in turn provides the context for Tennyson's own early Arthurian poems, impressive scholarship.' 5.0 out of 5 stars A RARE scholarly book worth your weight in gold 6 April 2016
By Fox Hardy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is an amazing book; I spent years trying to find it, because it's so rare I thought I never would. I finally found it at a local bookstore on the clearance shelf In near mint condition and I don't think they really knew what they had. The original copies of this book are out of print and worth upwards of $250 and the reprints sell here for $90; they are still worth it.
