These stories were entertaining and tackled the different emotions involved when family relationships change. The characters were utterly believable, although I found the situation in the third story somewhat odd; I couldn't quite accept the way that the relationship developed. However, the expression of the child's anger in mutilating the camel seemed to come straight from a book on child psychology. Overall I enjoyed Jenny's writing style very much.

These short stories are beautifully written and the reader can easily identify with all the characters. They are heart warming but not in a fluffy sense.
Jenny has a lovely way of writing that brings the surroundings and characters to life. Thinking about each story I cannot choose a favourite, they all have their own merits and I'm not at all surprised they have been published.
I very much look forward to a novel!

A delightfully easy read which leaves you wanting more. Jenny has a wonderful style of writing and manages to wring out all the emotions with these little tasters of her talent. I look forward to the next collection which might feature some tales of the darker kind. Great stuff - keep them coming. I don't often give five stars but this small collection thoroughly merited that level.

I chose this rating as these stories are well-written and hold the reader's attention well.

I like the author's style: the way the characters are described show their human vulnerability; the places they inhabit are deftly drawn but leave room for the reader to use their imagination. I would happily recommend these stories to all of my friends.

The stories are easy to read and well structured. They are of a length suitable for a magazine and therefore lack development, which is a shame. Characterisation is somewhat predictable, again perhaps due to genre. There were elements in all three stories that I wanted to know more about.

I have never been one to read short stories but I thought I would give it a go and I was pleasantly surprised. What lovely stories and all of them you could relate to as either a child or an adult. Well done Jenny, keep on writing!
