Product Description

Product Description

DJ Q-Bert's ""Camel Bobsled Race"" megamix came bundled as the bonus disk to the North American release of DJ Shadow's 1997 Preemptive Strike LP. The 24 minute continuous mix features all DJ Shadow music. For me, Q-Bert's ""Camel Bobsled Race"" megamix is one of those pieces of music that immediately transports to a time and place. We all have (and cherish) these types of memories, and that is one of the great things about music (and being human).

this really is an amazing mix, this shows the cream of dj shadow with better known material, like organ donor and midnight in a perfect world interlaced with the bliss of bonus beat and hardcore, two of the finer lesser known things, in my opinion shadow has touched to date. this would be both a great introduction to dj shadow and a fine addition to his other albums.

This record is incredable, the finest turntablism i've heard. If you want conclusive proof that qbert is one of the greatest turntablists who has ever graced the decks then look no further than this record. If you own alot of shadows work dont think you dont need this , if you want to hear a completely new take on dj shadow buy this record-how ever hard it is to get hold of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dope mix, phat beats 9 April 2002
By Scott A. Cooper - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is @ 27 minute of complete funked out madness. Q-Bert takes DJ Shadow to another level all together. Definitely worth owning this one.*
*Preemptive Strike owners beware. I have come to know that there are limited copies of Preemptive Strike that include this album as a bonus second disk (that is what I own). But, there are other copies of Preemptive Strike that don't have this album included. So, don't get hosed by buying another copy of what you already own. If you happen to have purchase Preemptive Strike without the bouns disk included, pick this one up today, it is essential for your collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overly Scratched but good. 22 Feb. 2008
By Jorge Alvarado - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Nothing new on this release, however the song selections are standout. Only for the DJ Shadow devoted. I also felt it was overly scratched by Qbert.

I will say this, it has the best version of Organ Donor I've ever heard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Foot tapping, head nodding, wait my whole body is vibrating 24 Sept. 2006

I got this as the second CD of the DJ Shadow Premeptive Strike special edition CD. I never listen to the "side one" CD. Its gathering dust somewhere. If you buy this as part of the special edition just throw out CD 1. Shadow is talented (though overhyped) but QBert it the Jimmy Hendrix of the turntables. His scratching ability is unparralled. If you like rythm you will love this. If you like spontaneous music full of adventure and creativity you will love this. If you like humour and fun you will love this. The scratches are kinetic explosions willing you to move, even if its just the muscles of your mouth in a smile. If you liked this check out the Return of the DJ series. QBerts solo album is also great but sadly I was expecting so much from my devotion to this record that I was a teeny bit dissapointed with Wave Twisters (even though I went out and bouught the film!)
