At first I was very disappointed at how brief and relatively shallow each contribution is to this book. I wanted something to get my teeth into, and to inform my day to day work as a forensic & clinical psychologist.
However, It does a different job, and does it well. It covers a very wide range of topics, and gives an overview of each. It is like an annotated bibliography on steroids. The contributors are mostly big cheeses in the area covered, and as an entry point to the topic covered, most chapters works very well.
Now, when something comes up I am not too familiar with, this volume is an early reference, and generally gives me a good steer on where I should go next to research things further.
