'The most accessible, comprehensive grammar I have seen.' --Michael Lewis, Author of The Lexical Approach
'A stepping stone towards confident and precise users of English.' --Geoff Barton,Times Educational Supplement
'The most significant book to be published in the field of grammar for a very long time.' --Roger Hunt, International House Journal
With its clear, two part structure, this is a user-friendly book from the world's leading English grammar publisher. In the first section, A-Z entries give more attention to lexico-grammar and other language areas that tend to be neglected in grammar references. The second section covers traditional grammatical categories such as tense, clause structure and parts of speech.See all Product Description

Cambridge Grammar of English Hardback with CD-ROM: A Comprehensive Guide
The CD-ROM only works on PCs (not Mac, although I have it running on a Parallels virtual machine running Windows), and requires you to install a special application. It would have been better in this day and age if it was just a PDF that could be downloaded, or a webpage, but it's still worth having.
All in all in cannot really improve your grammar, you can find better texts cheaper and more effective.
Its terminology is not the one older people learned at school - but none the less useful for that.
Hard to fault - unless there is just too much information overall.
Make of that what you will!
