As for Brainstorm, he seemed a bit familiar, didn't he? Egomaniacal, ruthless, all of those adjectives associated with cookie-cutter villains. For some reason, I pictured Richard Ridley.
I still liked the Trilogy, though, and can't wait to start the next solo adventure.
This time King comes up against Brainstorm.
Brainstorm is thought to be a A1 entity. Basically a computor that thinks.
Starts out with human looking monsters who come out when a new electric system is being tested. Every test brings these creatures to the surface.
This system caused fog and lightening. The creatures are driven insane by this and kill any and all in their way. Not good if your a puny human. Even soldiers have no luck fighting these things.
Kings learns about Brainstorm and the billionaire who runs it. He and his friend George Pierce foil his plans twice.
The third time is a race against the destruction of the planet. King, Fiona, and Sara are in Paris which is the epicenter of the destruction. Alexander/Hercules is also on site trying to prevent the destruction.
The billioinaire also learns about King and has a hitman out to kill him. This hitman is very, very good and is out to earn ten million dollars. He was retired but the billionaire forced him to take the contract.
This books travels from America to Paris and has Sara, Fiona and Alexander/Hercules along with King and a cast of great characters.
Just one hell of a read and well worth those Five Stars.
Beyond that, the plots all border on the fantastic or in fantasy.
Thanks, but I'd prefer something more realistic.
