I really enjoy this double album from Miss Kittin.
Not only does it have an accomplished sound (We should expect that by now),but it doesn't falter from its intended sound.
The two albums have their own individual flavors & all of the music from each fits well right where it is. That again is an accomplishment, the likes of which is not common place these days...Congrats Miss Kittin.
Disc one has more of a kind of 'late nite club' feel to it but also maintains an ethereal vibe throughout.Very sweet vibes indeed.
Disc two sounds more like it's about the use of synthesizers & ambiance.Make no mistake though, it is a very pleasant listen & i can listen to it again...A keeper ! That again is an accomplished result for any artist.I prefer the second disc (Personally)

It's difficult to tell weather or not there were real analogue synth's used or were they all perhaps virtuals ? Maybe a mixture of both. Not that it matters & if they were all virtual instruments then it shows how good virtuals are now.
Certainly on disc two it does sound as if analogue synthesizers were involved & whatever they are, they sound great, very classic sounding & there are hints of late 70's & 80's flavors mixed along with a 'now' edge.

I give this a 5 star rating. In 10 years & beyond i think i will still be able to listen to it. A good album remains a good album.

You wait years for a Miss Kittin album and then this gorgeous double cd set turns up in all it's glory. Highlights include the super-catchy 'Blue Grass' and a cover of REM's 'Everybody Hurts' that paradoxically had me grinning from ear to ear when I first heard it, just so happy this unique talent is back at last and better than ever ! First cd 'Part 1' is the dancier, poppier side with all Kittin's trademark production and percussion techniques that make her stand out from all the rest, second cd 'Part 2' is more ambient but still has that edgy feel demonstrating this kittin still rocks the house ... Anyone loving this album should check out her single releases from last year 'Housewife' (with Oxia), 'Hide' (with Kris Menace) and 'Girlz' (part of the 'Heidi Presents ...' series). Ah oui c'est trop belle !

'Flash Forward', 'Bassline' and 'Life Is My Teacher' are absolutely brilliant tracks and disc 1 is a good listen throughout. Disc 2 predictably is not as strong but it got better for me after I put some time in on it. This new album has only reinforced my opinion that Miss Kittin is right up there with the best.
