I read Beat The Band first, followed by Swim The Fly, then Call The Shots, and out of all of them, this is my favourite.

I wont be long, so I will make spoiler-free points:

-I liked how some characters are included more or brought back from Swim The Fly, when their presence was not/hardly mentioned in Beat the Band
-This one is definatly has more laugh out loud moments, and certainly its memorable moment, just like the party cupboard scene from STF and the library bean scene from BTB. I did LOL more times reading this book than in the others.
-It has more moments where you want to carry on reading. I don't know if its on purpose, but its written well in the fact that when something big happens, the page ends on a cliffhanger, making you want to read the next page to see what happens.
-It certainly has more "mature" themes in it, STW had the cupboard party part, and I'm not sure BTB had any, but this certainly has a fair few scenes that will leave boys (like me) chuckling due to our immaturity.
-You learn more about the characters in this, and not just Sean.

Overall, great book, worth a read, recommend reading in order though.

Literally just finished Call The Shots and ordered the other two in the series and I've never laughed so much at any novel in my life (I'm a big reader and I'm in my 40s).

Didn't put it down, laughed out loud, often one laugh right after the other, at the boys' antics and loved the story - unpredictable plot and it's actually got something to say too.

Will be recommending it all around to family and friends. Can't wait to read the previous two and will definitely have anything the author publishes in the future not to mention already looking forward to re-reading this one.

Call The Shots and buy it - you won't be disappointed! 5 stars all the way :)

I like to read some of these YA books, to see what teenagers are looking at today. This series by Don Calame was amusing, good light-hearted stories.
