Product Description

Product Description

The first all-girl group formed from Armed Forces families are releasing the official 2013 Poppy Appeal single, The Call (No Need To Say Goodbye).
The girls were picked after an exhaustive nationwide search for talent among Forces families, masterminded by Charles Byrne, Head of Fundraising at the Royal British Legion, together with Legion colleagues and executives at Decca Records. The search was confined to children who had a parent or sibling serving here or overseas.
After a series of online auditions from over 1000 hopefuls, eager to perform in front of The Queen at next month s Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall, the final short list went into the studio for a gruelling selection process and The Poppy Girls were formed.

A minimum of 40p from the sale of this record will be donated to The Royal British Legion Trading Limited (Company no. 4783730 registered in England and Wales) which gives its taxable profits to The Royal British Legion (Charity no. 219279) to help raise a minimum of £20,000

What a Superb Song to recall the sacrifice of our servicemen and their families. As a charity record with Kids singing I was expecting 'There's no one quite like Grandma' but got such a pleasant surprise! The singing is amazing and I can wait for the album to come out.

I watched the Poppy Girls perform this for the first time at the Festival of Remembrance, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much, musically... well-meaning kids, a good cause, I thought. But - wow. These girls can sing! Pure, soaring voices, lyrics to break your heart then fix it again, beautiful girls who can not only put this song across, but know what they are singing about, being the daughters of serving British servicemen. Sitting dabbing my eyes with a tissue, at the end of the song, they hadn't finished with us, because little 10 year old Megan's Dad - who she thought couldn't return to see her perform - was unexpectedly announced, and walked into the auditorium. Her face, crumpling in tears of joy as she ran into his arms, is something I will never forget. Buy this song. Not only is it money to help the heroes and heroines who defend all we hold dear, and repay those who gave their todays for our tomorrow, but it's a song that will stay with you always.

What a great way to commemorate those who we have lost in the war! This girl group, all comprised of daughters who fathers fight in the armed forces, take on this touching song and really do it justice. Their rendition touches the heart and really makes you think about the value men who fought for us nearly 100 years ago.

I would say buy this for 2 reasons; 1 to support the Poppy Appeal but also because the single will touch you and help all of us appreciate what we have. Thank you girls - top job!

what fantastic young ladies and all singing is like listening to ANGELS.
the little girl who did the start of the song at THE REMEMBERANCE SERVICE IN THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL last year I was in tears when she was unaware that her dad was in the background listing to them sing then when they finished he suddenly came out through the stairs and she went out running to him the tears was rolling down her cheeks,
if you have not got the cd I would before they sell out if they have not done so all ready,
as soon as they said that the cd was going out the following day I ordered it and got it rapidly

An excellent CD single brought out by 'THE POPPY GIRLS', and well in time for REMEMBRANCE DAY on the 11th of November 2014 to Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the outbreak of World War I and the fallen heroes.
This Poppy Girls recording, is a good one and does the country proud. This recording 'The Call' (No Need To Say Goodbye) is a must for all those who wish to show their support. They are cheap enough to suit every pocket. " WELL DONE POPPY GIRLS "

I bought this song mainly to support the Poppy appeal and hadn't actually heard it before. When I played it I was very surprised at how good it was, the lyrics were beautiful and it was a very easy song to listen to. Well done to the young girls involved. I didn't manage to watch the Festival of Remembrance until a week after it was broadcast and I was amazed at how well they sang live, and of course was in tears when Megan's dad turned up to surprise her. Well worth buying to keep for the future.

What can be said about this song? It is an excellent song, sung by a group pf dedicated girls whose fathers are serving in the armed forces. I saw this on the festival of remembrance and to see the young gills reaction when she saw her father coming out to greet her! I had to get a copy of this song, and am glad to hear it whenever I want to. Thanks You Amazon, another great service!
