Product Description

Product Description

Recorded in Seattle in November 1994, the album featured a line-up of Micky Jones (Guitars, Vocals), Deke Leonard (Guitars, Keyboards, Vocals), Martin Ace (Bass, Vocals) and John Weathers (Drums, Guitar, Vocals) and was a fine album, with some of the best material to grace a MAN album in later years. The excellent title track set the scene for a wonderful record that was produced by long time Man fan Ron Sanchez. Newly remastered edition of this classic 1995. Album by the legendary man band features two previously unreleased bonus tracks with fully restored artwork and new liner notes.

MAN from the 1990's-very different from Be Good To yourself and Back into the Future period, but well worth listening to especially Call Down the Moon, Dream away -great guitar work. In "Blackout" we have a driving Rock number from Deke describing an event in his life(but listen to the phenomenal guitar play. Deke's howling slide in the background, Mickey's lead scorching through the air). The obligatory track of Martin weirdness-The Man with X-Ray Eyes, but when you drop the thoughts and views and listen, what you get is a solid rocker with Deke chording away on the piano,a drum/bass which keeps up a bouncy rhythm which makes a good dance track. For me ,Heaven and Hell is the track I like least. Having been parted from my cd copy several years ago, I am hearing the album again with fresh ears and realise (if I don't make comparisons and listen to it on it's own merits) like "Endangered Species" it's a very fine album made by very able (and in Mickey's case, brilliant) musicians, in their prime. Oh yeah, a steal at £7.99. Bill

By no means a bad album but one for Man fans only really. The title track is cracking as is the 12 minute 'Drivin' Around' but in between there's a lot of good ideas but they mostly sound somewhat 'unfinished'. Don't be taken in by the claims of previously unreleased bonus tracks either; 'Dream Away' appeared on 'Undrugged' years ago and I've got 'Micky buys a round' somewhere too - it's a pleasant enough instrumental demo but nothing to shout about. If you haven't got it though 'Dream Away' is well worth having, in my opinion. Overall then, probably worth a bit more than 3 stars but definitely not 4.

Excellent collection of Man music, my favourite music since late sixties. Really nice to have lyrics enclosed and information about the tracks and band. Received CD 6 days before going to see Son of Man, brilliant gig! A must for all Man fans, thoroughly recommend it, have not stopped playing it since received.

I hadn't realised this album existed until I saw it on Amazon! Having read reviews of it here and elsewhere, I decided it sounded like a compulsory purchase.
Reviews are inevitably a matter of opinion and personal taste and I have to say that this style of MAN isn't my favourite.
If you like the Deke sung more poppy kind of stuff as on " slow motion" or the final track on "Endangered Species"(an album I very much like) then you may well not enjoy this album too much but if you are fond of longer Micky Jones (God bless ya Micky) soloing then you will probably love it. Die hard MAN fans wouldn't want to miss this I'm sure!
