I purchased this manuscript at Amazon/US.
Quinn Ramsay escapes to quiet Salt Spring Island to make a big decision about his business. He is fully of vitality and verve.
Emily Welland is the shy bookstore owner on the island. She has been unlucky in love, which has affected her dealings with people – especially men. She is prone to panicking and crippling shyness. Underneath her shyness, though, lies an exceptional woman, who is brainy and creative, caring and fun to be with. The moment she sees Quinn, she is almost starstruck. He makes her feel things that she’s never felt before.
Quinn is captivated by her “rain coloured” eyes and is intrigued by this shy woman and the reasons behind her shyness. He is unwillingly drawn to her. He isn’t looking for love but it finds him at an almost inconvenient time in his life. He is contemplating his future and hadn’t allowed for the possibility of someone to share it with.
I really enjoyed how Quinn pushed Emily past her comfort zone, with firm care and tenderness. It was great to see Emily willing to take a chance on Quinn, even if it was for a limited time, until he returned to his ‘real’ life.
Sweet love story and really enjoyable, with a lovely conclusion that sets it up for the next couple in the series.
