I am a very big fan of Dead Man Ray and Cago is my least favourit album of them.
They left their old, grim, slightly computerised sound to work with Steve Albini: the master of analogue.
Not necessarilly a bad thing: productionwise this album couldn't have sounded better: This album actually manages to sound sunny at one time and rainy at others and still sound as a whole.
It's just that the songquality isn't as consistent as on previous albums. When it's good it's really good but some songs, Centrifugitives being the clearest example, lose their suspense after a few listens.
Overall a fair album, songs like 'Landslide', 'A Single Thing', 'Short Term Investments' or 'Losing The Lost' definatly make it worth checking out. Just know that they have done better in the past.

Brilliant warm recording from the king of 'close miking' Steve Albini of the king of 'weird cool belgian music with a slightly discordant but accessible twist' Rudy Trouve.
This album is a like a slow fire warming the musical feet gently until you can feel the comfy heat.
Daan on vocals for the third DeAD Man Ray effort the band have an altogether more relaxed sounding album, confidence exudes as they law their foot gently on the gas occassionally providing a bit of throttle where needed in places.
Should be massive but hey thats the way of the world. Take a chance and but this and delve further into the brilliant world of belgian music, one of the most amazing of movements to lie untouched and soiled by the mainstream music press.
