My first book by this author. I liked the characters and the story line is promising but it seems dragged out and slow in places. The reason for that is probably because this book is the first of at least 3. It doesn't tell you that anywhere when you buy the book which I find absolutely infuriating. I never buy serial books if I can help it because I don't want to wait months to see what happens at the end. With this book the overall price you are going to pay to read the whole story (£7 if only 3 and a lot more if it runs into 4 or 5 books) I feel like I have been ripped off because it is not worth that amount of money.

I'm not a big fan of books about cage fighters but I really enjoyed this book mostly because I thought Liam was such a great character. I think the book deserves 5 stars for the many and varied handbag names (which never failed to make me smile!)

After reading this book first in Shay's fanfiction. Shay Savage has taken the story back and replaced the characters as her own. Thus making the story better. Liam the bold fighter with a very dark background story . Tria with both parents dead, brought up in very strange place with even stranger ways. Who would have thought that one lonely datk night they would meet.

Definitely one of my favorite leading men. At the moment I'm all for the MMA cage fighting stories and this is one of the best I've come across! If you're even slightly intrigued by the look and sound of it, then I strongly suggest you buy and read it.

Oh my, I think I want a Liam all of my own – he is just so… everything!
Liam or as he is known in the cage – Takedown is just a fabulous guy, he is a hard as they come in the cage and shows absolutely no mercy but he is so funny and such a nice guy to Tria that he won me over – completely!
I had like many others I suppose expected to find a full on rockem sockem MMA tough guy and in some respects that is exactly what I got because Liam takes no prisoners when he steps inside the cage – he takes care of business and that is the business of winning – of taking down everyone in his path and getting the hell out at the end of the night.
Liam has a history that is not completely revealed but we do get to see that this man, may have come from a family with money but for his own reasons he turned his back on it and set about fending for himself, It hasn’t been easy and he is broke but he is making do and when his new neighbour moves in his days just seem to have become a little bit brighter.
His day to day, fight to fight existence pales into insignificance when he claps eyes on her and they skyrocket completely when she is in peril and he saves her. But can he be her friend and nothing more or could there be anything more on offer?
Well he is about to find out!
Tria was eternally grateful to Liam when he stepped in and saved her from being attacked and they strike up an amazing friendship but that doesn’t stop him trying to escape her friend zone label and I have to say it was downright hilarious.
Honestly listening to him trying to convince himself of what he was not only doing but should be doing next was just brilliant – I adored the fact that this was told from his POV, from inside his head because it was just such a super place to be.

CAGED is only the second ever book I've read by Shay Savage (I've no idea why because her writing ticks all the boxes for me!) I found myself addicted from the beginning to the very end! The story completely carried me away into the world of Liam-TAKEDOWN-Teague. This story is, of course, told completely from Liam's point of view, a writing trait that Shay Savage is known for being expert at and Caged certainly demonstrates her flair for portraying the male perspective, his prose and dialogue are executed to perfection.

Liam is a guy who speaks his mind and equally avoids emotion. He’s a cynic and a realist whose one and only love is fighting, it’s his life and the only time he feels alive.

Tria Lynn is a small town girl who’s trying to make a difference in the world. In contrast to Liam, she’s idealistic, pensive and thoughtful and likes to play things by the book so, of course, she wants to get to know the REAL Liam Teague. I liked her quirks, her character traits and her measured dialogue. She's not the main player for me, in that she's not the most important aspect of the story. Shay Savage as I've touched on is famed for her male story-telling so the heroine, for me, is not as important. Did I love her? Probably not but she did not offend me either, her role is to bring out the inner vulnerabilities of the male protagonists character and in this the heroine is highly successful. The way Liam is with her is completely adorable and totally swoon worthy.

I loved the development of both protagonists; their rich history layered throughout the fluid telling is engaging.

Takedown Teague is book #1 in the Caged Series, this is the first book I have read by Shay Savage and I was gifted an ARC to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

This book is from Liam’s perspective and honestly women written male POV’s are either good or really bad!!!

Shay Savage totally nailed it!!!

Liam was brilliantly written, he spoke like a guy and thought like a guy. I totally connected with his character, he was simple and he lived a simply life but he’s actually an incredibly complex character. You can feel his sadness; it radiated through his personality and surrounded him apart from when he was with Tria.

This is a book about a fighter and fighting but that just an incredibly small part of this story. Liam’s fight to move on from whatever haunts him in the past and his attempts to find happiness with Tria are what really sets this book apart from many others in this genre.

I loved the way Liam became a protector for Tria, obviously I don’t know this but I got the impression it shocked Liam that he was prepared to do something so selfless.

Tria is a really interesting character and I would have loved to see some of her POV but for once I actually really enjoyed only getting Liam’s perspective.

Tria obviously comes from a unique background; I’m not gonna give away any spoilers by saying what it is. I will say that it was unexpected to say the least.

The last few chapters were a real eye opener and I honestly didn’t see this book taking that kind of a direction.

Liam seems like a highly sexual character so to say that there is no actual sex in this book is surprising, I love that he holds Tria is a much high esteem than just seeing her as a quick shag!!!
