Judd Asher was snatched from his front garden aged four, twenty one years ago. When he is finally found he has been locked in a dark damp cellar and he has been seriously emotionally and physically abused, he is scared and totally broken. Enter Kloe Grant who has been assigned to be his therapist, and here's where the book starts to get really interesting because there is more to Kloe than meets the eye and when these two souls collide you can expect some explosions !!!!!!!!!!!
The book is written in two parts. the first part is heartbreaking and sad, the second part is all about revenge and anger and brutality, but somewhere along the line it still grabs onto your heart and squeezes hard , draining every ounce of emotion and feeling it possibly can from you.
In keeping with most of Dawn's book you are taken on a roller coaster of a ride, with twisted brutal scenes that leaves your jaw dropping in awe of her writing and capability to shock and she does it so well. A total must read book and I cannot wait for the next in the series.
The storyline was good. I was intrigued right from the bloody blurb and have been looking forward to reading it.
I must be honest and say it felt a little flat to me. I guess all those "coincidences " bothered me more than I would have wished. I still wanna read the second book, though. It obviously got to me, even though I only gave it 3 stars.
There was not a finger to put on the "dark" parts. They were well executed, and spot on. Applause for that. I think it is safe to say that this book left me intrigued, but as frustrated as a wet cat...Let's see what the second book will make me feel.
Will I recommend?: It was good, but will not be a favourite of mine, but it is worth of your time to read it if you like some "darkness" in your books.
This is a book which is tragic, intense, dark, and emotional. When Anderson is rescued after many years of abuse and starvation, Kloe is called in as a therapist to help him overcome his traumatic past. This truly broke my heart reading this!!
Is there more to Kloe and Anderson than meets the eye? Who helps whom? Highly recommend reading this for yourself to find out! Cannot wait to read the second book called Chained which is the conclusion.
My mouth is open, but there are no words.
The plot is original. The characters are so realistic that I feel their pain and fears.
My heart beat fast and slowed down. I held my breath and then I was panting with confusion and excitement. I am left wanting... NO! Neeeeding more!
DH Sidebottom has done it again! I am in love with Anderson. Whether I think that's the right thing or not... I don't care. I hold out hope for him.
Bring it on!
