In Caedmon's Curse there's a lot of action. First Rowena and Caedmon have to fight a lot of bad guys,, but then there's also time for the two of them. In the third novella of The Golden Key Chronicles there are a lot of sexy scenes. I liked that it was fast paced and filled with adrenaline. I was intrigued from beginning to end. I love this series! Rowena is such a strong heroine. She always knows what to do and she cares more about the safety of the kingdom than about her own. Caedmon is a sexy man, he is a prince, but he can be rough. He's also an honorable person who does everything he can to protect the love of his life. This novella has a spectacular finale, which made me want to continue with the next one straight away.
I haven't read the second in the series 'Candra's Freedom' but this no way spoiled my enjoyment. Caedmon and Rowena's delightfully witty dialogue effortlessly fills in significant past events as they battle with their enemies and their magnetic attraction.
Caedmon attracts Rowena despite her distrust of his motives and memory loss. Their sexual chemistry coupled with losing him forever forces her to question why she is pushing him away. Rowena is a 21st century woman not in need of an alpha super hero but a partner who respects and supports her. Caedmon's fulfils this role admirably.
Full of important clues 'Caedmon's Curse' still leaves the reader with more questions than answers and desperate for the next instalment which is previewed at the end of the book.
A must read for lovers of fairytales.
I received a copy of this book from Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Can Braedric's twisted hatred for his half brother get any worse, can Rowena ever really settle into this unwelcoming world or will she forever be lost in time & an outcast. Will Prince Caedmon ever find a way to prove his love & loyalty to Rowena or has her treatment at the hands of Prince Braderic & the people of this strange world, for the two years Prince Caedmon was imprisoned & at the mercy of a dangerous wizard, stop her ever trusting him again. All I can say without adding any spoilers to this review is: Is it February 13th 2014 yet I have to know how their lives will end...........
I received a copy of The Golden Key Chronicles from the author in return for an unbiased review. At the author's request I will read and review each novella separately, followed by an overview.

Caedmon's curse starts two days after the last book ended, with Rowena showing off her survival skills as she seems in her element, finally away from the aristocracy that held her down so long. Soon however we hear the thunder of hooves approaching her secluded hideaway. Why can't they just leave her alone!
Caedmon crashes into the camp, with Rowena already in hiding, and like the typical man makes a mess. But why is he here? That is the real question. He fights her, but also corrects her mistakes, making her a better warrior. Is he here to drag her back to the castle or to free her?
The tenderness shown by Caedmon in these scenes, particularly when he ignored his own desires to make sure Rowena felt safe, above anything else with him were so touching and perfectly aimed. Who could not fall in love with a prince who puts you first and treats you like his queen? Yet Rowena's anger is still palpable, if, I felt, misdirected. It was interesting to see the change in her as she had to reassess everything she had learnt in the last two years of her life in the castle.
Soon however things take a turn for the worse and Rowena finds herself fleeing, this time not from Caedmon, but to save is life. This was action packed and a full on adventure with dangerous martial artist soldiers on her tail, and a forbidden forest of terror to everyone in front, the pages just kept flipping.Read more ›
