This book takes your whole body into account - not just individual symptoms.
Dan speaks of how, after possibly an initial virus, our bodies are under 'stress', both from the illness, symptoms and also stress about the symptoms.
His plan is to try and calm down our entire system to allow it to help - through meditation, diet, light exercise (if you can manage it).
This book can only be read on the pc or kindle which I am not keen on doing but I persevered.
The first part of the book is quite technical about how our cells work etc but do not be put off.
I was a bit downhearted when I read the part on diet as it is a virtual stone age diet and most of the food I eat (potatoes, cereals, carrots, peas, milk etc) should be cut out. And Dan says - if you know what you should do but do not do it - well you only have yourself to blame.
I can see how some people may be dispirited by reading about exercise and strict diets - but it is worth a go.
Dan advises you consult a dietitian to streamline your diet but this is often beyond the means of many.
Definitely worth a read and try and implement as much as you can - what do you have to lose?
Dan's theory definitely seems to make sense and some of his ideas are very similar to Myhill and Ashok Gupta.
I believe Dan is the 'Real Deal' and knows his subject and the science well.
I read the book on my wife's Kindle (with attached Mini light!) which made the reading experience really enjoyable. I usually read very little outside of computer work, especially since suffering CFS. Dan's writing style and reaffirmation of 'key points' made for a very readable, informative and revealing study. One drawback of the kindle is the lack of colour and inability to study the diagrams in detail, However, Dan offers a link to down load an excellent information pack on PDF. The Key of course is to start de-stressing your life, put in good things and don't be in a hurry. That way the body will eventually heal itself. Dan describes in detail how and why all our 'Chemical Switches' are affected in sufferers. I was able to follow the science for the most part and was fascinated by what I read.
Well done Dan! (As one to another!)
A great and inspiring read.
