This book is has the same failings at the CCSA book by the same company, namely that whilst the book is very informative and provides a great platform to learn from, it quite simply hasn't been proof-read. The mistakes are such that a simple spell check could have sorted some of them.
These annoyances have made me rate this book at a four star. Apart from this, buy the book if you want to learn about VPNs on VPN-1/FW-1, Content filtering or anti-virus.
Take my advioe, if you have checkpoint and want to learn about it, buy this book and the sybex CCSA book. You will not be dissapointed!!

HASH(0x96eb13b4) out of 5 stars Best and most up-to-date Check Point NG Book!! 6 Mar. 2003
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This book is very well written and all you need to pass the CCSE exam! The sample questions were very helpful in preparing for the test.
The labs are useful as a reference for stuff that I'm doing on my corporate firewalls. The best part is that the book is based on FP3 with references to FP2 and FP1.

HASH(0x96fb057c) out of 5 stars Excellent CCSE vNG FP3 Study Guide! 16 Mar. 2003
By J. Hunter - Published on
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Great book! If you are taking CCSE vNG FP3 exam, this book has everything you need. Was able to pass the exam the frist attempt, and there was nothing on the exam that I had not seen in book. In addition, the "CCSE NG: Check Point Certified Security Expert Study Guide" would serve pretty well as a "how-to" reference guide.

HASH(0x973d5168) out of 5 stars Passing the NG Exam 6 Mar. 2003
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I took Sarvang's 4.1 Check Point class a couple years ago and, based on his teachings, easily passed the test. Now I have his book and it has been an excellent resource for studying for the NG exam. If you go through the book and the review questions, you'll definitely pass the test.
