Would be a 5 star rating had it not been for the noisy CPU cooler. Fortunately it is very easy to unscrew without disturbing the heatsink and replacing with a silent 40mm cooler with 3 pins
This small mother board contains everything I want, 2x usb 3.0 and even with a pci-e socket. But is it only have 2 sata and not enough for me, luckily there is a pci-e so I bought a SATA PCI-e Card and works very perfect. And another thing is it doesn't have a usb3.0 20 pin which means I can't have usb3.0 in front of the case. But again, if you want have usb3.0 in front, buy a pci-e board.
The fan of cpu is not so quiet but my room is not quiet too, so I ignored it.
I don't need a video output so sorry I can't make any comment.
There isn't any things wrong with it, it's cheap, surprisingly fast, low power usage, low profile ram slots.
Great for my purpose, definitely recommend it for anyone making a media server or a torrent downloader pc.
The only things I will mention are, the CPU fan it a bit loud, not annoying loud but I would think about getting a replacement 4cm fan.
Another thing would be to say the bios is very limited, probably because it's a intel bases bored but you can not change the cpu fan speed, which would probably fix the loud fan.
apart from that, it's a great bored and would definitely recommend it. :)
I have bought round 100 motherboards in my life time and this one stands amongst the best. The existing one I have been using in the past 3 years and the machine has been used almost all the day and evenings with Linux, Windows 10, Windows 7 and XP - and it has worked perfectly so far running every applications etc.
I set up a FreeNAS system and it all went well (a lot of configuration and a lot of hassle for somebody like me who is a geek but isn't a programming geek). But I couldn't get the freeness to DNS and it seemed to be quite noisy. There were a lot of features that are obviously aimed at enterprise and i just don't need those features. A simple TimeMachine backup and home media management are all i need.
I have now changed to Amahi home sever software which is a Fedora linux. It is easier to configure, much quieter on the hardware and is doing everything i need it to.
