Buz Loveday is Lead Trainer at Dementia Trainers (www.dementiatrainers.co.uk), a small team of specialist trainers with a mission to improve dementia care. With a background in psychology, counselling and statutory and voluntary sector care provision, Buz has worked as a dementia trainer since 1991. Over the last 20+ years she has trained many thousands of staff and managers in a range of organisations, including care homes, hospitals, home care services, day centres, housing schemes, social services departments, carers' groups and other support services. From '05 to '07 she delivered a nationwide programme of training on dementia to Inspectors from CSCI (now the Care Quality Commission) and she has provided training for the Alzheimer's Society and Dementia UK. Buz runs a number of accredited courses, including programmes for dementia care leaders and trainers, and she writes as a subject matter expert for SCIE (the Social Care Institute for Excellence), including co-authoring their award-winning e-learning course 'The Open Dementia Programme'. Buz lives in London, UK with her two teenage children and dog.
