This book is so shallow compared to others available. Too much space in the layout, and who needs so many full-page charcoal drawings of dreamy houses, patios, etc.?
Do yourself a favour and compare this to the David Hampshire one. The latter has so much more and is far more infromative.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that good 3 April 2013
By Øyvind Knutsen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I find this book somewhat unfocussed. The details in it is not quite the details I want. It contains some general writing on various types of houses but only on the surface. It is too little information to be useful and too much to be a quick overview. There are some drawings of houses, but the book would benefit much from a lot more sketches of the topics described.
I did not learn much from this book, which is disappointing.

There are some list of french words and expressions that are useful.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Jump Start - The listed web sites make it worth the cost 15 Sept. 2014
By George F. Reinhart - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is a good very basic book. I think the listed web sites make it worth the cost. But if you are looking for clear step by step instructions this book will not be enough for you. Also, do not look for any photos here.

Among all the books I have seen on retiring in Europe, this one actually is jam packed with useful info.

5.0 out of 5 stars Duking it out in the French property market. 3 Sept. 2014
By johnmagicwands - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The level of detail given in the book is amazing. By charting out exactly what monetary and legal entanglements one might encounter, and explaining how long the process of completing a purchase might take, the book lets a buyer go to France prepared for the fight.
