Eaten on its own, it tastes like the husk you get on pistachios. Not bad, but not amazing. But what is good is that it's fairly bland and can be added to foods such as chilli, curries etc without affecting the taste.
In addition, if you just want some fibre without adding to a full meal, I like using some low carb peanut butter (you can get this from some major supermarkets; it's not marketed as low carb, but just look at the nutritional information) and mixing the linseed in with it and it's tastes great.
The bag actually looks different than in the picture and is more sturdy in real life. I would still recommend pouring some out into a separate jar and then storing it in the fridge (you should always keep flax/linseed in the fridge!)
