I dried the area from moisture, as much as possible, and used a funnel to make sure that the Bicarbonate of Soda (one tea cupful) is all in the pipe, then after poured equal amount of the Vinegar on top of it.
Waited 10 minutes.....and "Hey Presto", all Clear and Clean and without the risk of chemical spillage, having to wait over night, or smell chemical reactions.
So I can say that this bicarb is different to the stuff from the supermarket - it's finer powder and it doesn't taste as tangy: to be fair this is only cos I scrub my teeth with it that I know the taste. My steel pans still clean up just as good as does the granite sink.
I haven't tried cooking with it - so I cannot compare.
But it is... 'different' and therefore I rate it 4 as it is not simply a bigger cheaper bag of 'expected' bicarb.
So my paranoia wonders if it might be fake or sub standard. I am sure it is not as I am fine after cleaning my teeth with it.
Good old fashioned trusted bicarb which I cannot live without!
I use it for cleaning, I always put a tbsp in washing machine with wash. I mix with vinegar to make a foamy sink drain cleaner. I make pastes to clean anything stained.
I use it for deep teeth cleaning weekly.
It makes a fantastic natural deodorant on its own which I have recently discovered!!!
As you can probably see I'm crazy about this stuff. I am so happy with the price on Amazon as if you buy the tiny little boxes at supermarkets they are usually around £2 so this is fantastic value too.
I could probably harp on all day about its uses but if you're here you probably have a good idea and all you need to know is it's great quality and value.
