Product Description

Product Description

Having worked with some of the best pop producers the world has to offer over the last 6 months, 'Butterfly Effect' has been a joyous experience for the singer and songwriter. Having had her first opportunity to co-write on this album, she’s delivered a fantastically diverse set of songs and etched her own personality on a sound that she’s incredibly proud of. The album showcases not only the strength in Ashley’s voice, but her ability to provide genuine emotion and depth to the recordings. 'Butterfly Effect' will be released on September 1st whilst the music and television star will be in the midst of an enormous UK arena tour where she joins BAFTA Award winners Ant & Dec on stage every night for the debut of their Saturday Night Takeaway live tour. Not only will she be appearing throughout the show, Ashley will resume her role as the host of 'Ant Vs Dec' and will also be performing her new single 'Woman Up' every night on the 30+ date tour, which plays to well over 340,000 people. Kicking off on August 6th at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena, the tour covers the length and breadth of the UK, ending in Dublin at the O2 on Sat 13th September and includes 3 London shows which will play to over 70,000 people alone.

With an ever growing fanbase, Ashley is ready to take her music career to the next phase and play live shows on the same level as her former group, The Pussycat Dolls. This completely unique live platform is the perfect springboard to launch 'Butterfly Effect' and she is hugely excited about fans old and new, not only hearing, but seeing what she’s been working on passionately since she set foot in London’s world famous Metropolis Studios back in 2013.

Got this album as a gamble. I liked Clockwork when it was released and was surprised it didn't chart. I was looking forward to her album but totally forgot about it until now. The charts never bother me and doesn't put me off buying a album. After first listen I am like its ok nothing more. I think the second half of the album is stronger then the first but can see why it didn't chart. No stand out track or future single choices. I think it will be a grower and certainly not a poor album at all. I hope she gets another chance of a new album.

Ashley Roberts is the 2nd PCD member to release a solo album after Nicole!

This album contains 10 pop/r'n'b tracks. She worked with Frankmuizk one 3 tracks

My favorite song is woman up and Lonely Nights (hey you)!!

It's a real shame the album isn't selling well :(

But this album is a great debut she has set the bar high for her future albums!!!

Despite her past as a member of one of the new millennium's most well-recognized pop acts, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts' emergence as a solo artist is one of the more peculiar musical debuts in recent memory. While she was involved with the burlesque troupe during their time as a recording group, Roberts' abilities as a vocalist were never made known as all of the band's songs were performed solely by head doll Nicole Scherzinger. This ultimately forced the secondary dolls into the background as glorified back-up dancers for their lead singer and when the overemphasis on Scherzinger resulted in the group's dissolution, Roberts seemed destined to fade into obscurity. A successful stint on the UK's massively popular version of "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" in 2012 resulted in a spike of adoration for Roberts however, and Butterfly Effect is most assuredly the byproduct of her newfound fame found via appearing on television eating camel privates rather than miming lyrics in her heyday as one of the Pussycats.

So what is the end result of hearing the former Angel Doll for the first time? Surprisingly pretty good. Roberts may not have the most dynamic set of pipes but she compensates for this with compositions that suit her sweet, small voice and allow her to exude some of her winning personality into the mix - something her former bandmate has yet to do on record. The brassy, girl-power themed "Woman Up" and sassy "My Song" give Ashley a chance to show off her feistiness ("My Song" also serves as the most explicit swipe at Scherzinger on the album) while the slower numbers prove just as appealing.

This is the second solo offering to come from The Pussycat Dolls, the first one coming in the form of Nicole Scherzinger's 2011 debut smash album "Killer Love". Since the disbandment of PCD, the former dolls have been attempting to break out as solo artists but the music industry has been less than kind to Ashley, Kimberly, Jessica, Melody and Carmit as numerous setbacks and label issues have stunted their individual projects multiple times. However, Miss Roberts has finally came out fighting and managed to released her LONG awaited debut album; "Butterfly Effect" and it is a truly brilliant record. It's true when they say good things come to those who wait.

The album kicks off with the lead single, "Clockwork". Recorded at London's famous Metropolis Studios like the bulk of the record, this rock/pop powerful number definitely sets the tone of the record. Much like the rest of the album, it packs a punch and has a very edgy, feisty undercurrent to it. In Ashley's words "Clockwork" represents a relationship that had its moment and when it did it was fireworks, but now it's fizzled out and you want to go back for more fireworks even though it's done. It's dangerous and exciting but may leave you a little scarred. We've all had one of those." I can definitely feel the raw emotion in Ashley's vocals throughout this mid-tempo beauty. Why this single failed to chart is beyond me!

Following on we have the second single, "Woman Up". This is one of the most upbeat songs on "Butterfly Effect" and has a very "camp", girl power vibe to it.
