get my sister for her birthday. I ended up getting two because I wanted to
keep one for myself! I'm not really much of a dancer, but it's just so fun
to read. I love all the dances from the 1950s, because no-one teaches you
how to do them these days (unless you're willing to put Hairspray on loop).
We have a 70s night on once a month at our local pub so I'll see if I feel
brave enough to pull out the Saturday Night Fever routine (though I'll
probably need a couple of pints first!).
I even gave the book to my niece (she's 8) and she spent the afternoon
teaching my six-year-old nephew how to do the moonwalk. It was so cute, and
a great way to keep the kids occupied for a while! It's probably the first
time we've all sat down and done something together. Not that any of us were
sitting down, come to think of it (including my dad!?!).
I'd definitely recommend this book if you're wondering what on earth to get
someone who's impossible to buy for. It doesn't matter whether you're a
complete novice (like me) or an absolute pro-it's a great little stocking
filler for anyone this Christmas. I love it! Bust A Move: Dance Crazes Through the Ages
It's broken down into decades with ideal-for-wowing-your-mates-at-the-pub-quiz dance trivia and hilarious `Get the Look' sections, which prove very useful when putting together an outfit for that retro party. Then it's further divided into dances, including a step-by-step guide and cracking full-colour illustrations.
I loved it!
