A very enjoyable and stimulating read. I am quite overwhelmed by the sweep of it, the vast literature with which the author is familiar, coupled with the variety of actual business practices to which he refers. And I find it difficult to know quite where to go as a result of the analysis. But what he writes about economics and economists rings true to me, and seems very plausible with respect to the business writers. I like the way the author acknowledge the insights provided by the early writers, who focused on what to them were the obvious elements overlooked by previous writers, and who in turn were augmented by later writers. I like too the emphasis on innovation and creativity, on judgement rather than on calculation given known inputs.
